Longtime banker retiring after 38-year lending and trust administration career

Council Bluffs, Iowa, July 1, 2022 - After a successful career in banking and trust administration, Rich Purdy, of TS Prosperity Group in Council Bluffs, Iowa, will retire on August 1, 2022.

A Fontanelle native, Purdy attended Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School, then graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in Farm Management. He also was a graduate of the Iowa School of Banking.

From 1977-1984, Purdy worked for the Southwest Iowa Farm Business Association helping small farm businesses. From there, Purdy joined TS Bank in 1984 with an initial position as a loan officer and later transitioned to TS Prosperity Group. In 2000, he earned the Certified Financial Planner® designation. 

In his 38-year banking career, Purdy has served in numerous banking and management roles, including lending, trust administration, farm management and as a real estate broker in the southwest and central Iowa area. As Fiduciary Officer, Vice President of TS Prosperity Group, he has specialized in administering trusts, estates and farm management accounts.

During his tenure, hundreds of clients have benefited from Rich’s subject matter expertise in financial planning, trust and estate administration and farm management knowledge. That, combined with his very thoughtful and friendly delivery, is the hallmark of a career that will serve as a great example for all who follow in his footsteps," said Senior Fiduciary Officer, Vice President, Jim Koch.

Purdy has been actively involved as member of Zion Congregational Church, serving as the past Treasurer, as a member of the Mission Board, and currently as the Financial Secretary. He is also a former board member and Treasurer of the Pottawattamie County Red Cross. Rich and his wife, Rhonda have three adult married daughters Jessica Kunkel (Brian), Jenna Hutchinson (Jordan) and Tracy Berg (Wes) and currently four grandchildren. Rich enjoys watching sports and spending time with family.
