About our Treynor bank

In 1902, TS Bank was opened in Treynor, Iowa, which became a chartered bank in 1923. Harry Holst served as the bank’s first president from 1923-1952, a non-employment position, followed by Joseph Gronstal, a full-time employee since 1923 and served as president from 1952-1972, and then Robert Gronstal who served as president from 1972-1978. In 1978, Mick Guttau was named CEO, President and Chairman of the Board. At that time, Mick, with the help of his family leveraged the family’s century farm and purchased controlling interest in the bank from the Gronstal family, and it remains a family-owned bank today.

Megan Barth - Branch Manager, AVP, Council Bluffs and Treynor

Megan serves as Branch Manager, AVP for the Pottawattamie County branches. She has been in banking since 2013 and joined TS Bank in December of 2020. Megan has served on the frontline for her entire career and has a passion for banking and people. When she is not working, she spends time at the soccer field or volleyball court watching her two daughters and enjoys volunteering at New Visions and assisting with financial literacy.

Russ Maguire – VP, Consumer Credit, Treynor

Russ joined TS Bank in 1986 as a loan rep, and over the years has moved into his current position as VP of Consumer Lending and Lending Compliance Officer. He oversees the consumer lending area and assists with training the Universal Bankers on consumer lending and compliance. He is also involved with consumer real estate lending including construction, home equity and secondary market home loan financing. Russ graduated from Tarkio College in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Admin and minor in Economics. He has worked with both Ag/Commercial and Consumer lending departments and combines over 30 years of banking knowledge and experience. Russ is originally from Treynor and has been on the volunteer fire department for 31 years where he currently serves as the active chief for the past 24 years.

Aaron Schoening - AVP of Ag and Business Banking

Aaron joined TS Bank in January 2022. He is relatively new to the banking industry, spending nine years in the Supply Chain Industry, directly after graduating from Iowa State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. Aaron has been married for nine years, has two daughters, and currently resides in Neola. Aaron is excited to get back into an agricultural environment and assisting Clients to prosper.
