Figgins retires after more than 50 years of service to the Atlantic community

May 11, 2018 | TS Bank

Atlantic, IA - TS Bank would like to announce Lois Figgins’ retirement. An open house celebration will be held on May 17, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the TS Bank Atlantic branch.

Figgins is a lifelong resident of the Griswold-Atlantic area. Her first job was with Swanson grocery in Atlantic for a couple years before she transitioned over to First Whitney Bank and Trust, where she worked on and off for seven years, including a short hiatus to join her husband in the military overseas and another to raise her two boys.

She went back to work full-time from 1974 to 2014 at First Whitney Bank. There, she held positions as a bookkeeper, teller, assistant cashier and secretary of the installment loan department. After leaving First Whitney Bank, she helped in the infant room at the Ann Wickman Center for one year before coming to TS Bank in the fall of 2015. At TS Bank, she has served as a Credit Administrative Assistant for the Atlantic branch for nearly three years.

Lois Figgins has been involved in the Atlantic community throughout her life. She is an active volunteer with Relay for Life; enjoys her weekly sewing group, The Knotty Ladies; and she and her husband, Ed, are very involved in all aspects of their church, Zion Lutheran Church. She is most looking forward to spending time with her two grandchildren, camping and just relaxing.

“One of the many things that I like about TS Bank is what they put back into the community of Atlantic, and the other communities that they serve.” Said Figgins. “Working here has been one of the greatest career opportunities I’ve had, and I couldn’t have asked for better people to work with every day.”

Her last day will be Friday, May 18, 2018, and TS Bank will host an open house reception in her honor on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Atlantic branch located at 1005 E 7th Street. Cake and refreshments will be available to those that would like to come to thank Lois for all her years of service in the Atlantic area.
