Martha Schuler 30 years

A $1,000 gift to honor 30 years of service

March 26, 2022 | TS Bank

Today, we honor a familiar face at TS Bank who recently celebrated a big milestone. Martha Schuler, Credit Administration Specialist, is celebrating 30 years of service. In addition to an individual tenure gift, employees who serve more than 30 years with the bank receive $1,000 to donate to a charity of their choice, a donation made in their honor. In this case, Martha is splitting the gift for two charities with personal ties.

The first organization dear to Martha’s heart is the Treynor Food Pantry at Zion Congregational Church.  The pantry does wonderful work assisting those in need and provides nutritious food and other staples to those who are most vulnerable. “I have had the opportunity over many years, along with the help of Girl Scout troops, fellow employees, and family to donate, especially at Christmas time to help families in need. I hope this donation will help bring comfort and joy during the holiday season,” Martha shared.

As a long-time resident of the Treynor area Martha’s relationship with TS Bank began early. Martha started with the bank in 1992 and has held many roles and responsibilities at the bank over the years including loan operations, core analysis and credit administration to name a few.

“I am very thankful to be working for such a generous and caring company. It is hard to believe 30 years have gone by. Family is very important to me, as well as for TS Bank. Mick and Judy Guttau have been especially an inspiration to me. The bank has been like a second family, and we have gone through a lot together. I appreciate all they do for their employees and communities they serve,” Martha stated.

The second organization receiving a donation on Martha’s behalf is a new nonprofit called, Positive Spin. This organization helps veterans overcome their obstacles through cycling and educational outreach.  “My daughter and fiancé (Heath Barcus) have started this organization to help veterans in need. Heath is a Marine Corps veteran who has experienced PTSD and has found that exercise therapy augmented traditional therapy. Donations will purchase good quality equipment for a veteran’s journey towards a better life,” Martha added. To learn more about this new organization visit, www.positivespin.vet.

“It is such a blessing to be able to give to others,” Martha stated. “Again, I would like to thank TS Bank for giving me this opportunity to give back and support those in need. I encourage others to be generous and kind in all you do.”
