Kyle Osborne receives Service to Business Education Award

December 10, 2025

Council Bluffs, IA, December 5, 2025 - TS Bank is thrilled to announce Kyle Osborne, AVP of Business & Consumer Banking was recently honored with the Service to Business Education Award by the Iowa Business Education Association (IBEA). This award recognizes individuals and businesses that have made a major contribution to business education across the state of Iowa.

Kyle was nominated by four educators Carrie Kohl (Missouri Valley CSD), Kara Victor (Griswold High School), Jodi Behrendt (Boyer Valley CSD) and Wendy Lausen (Tri-Center High School) for his exceptional leadership and dedication to equipping teachers and students with the tools they need to succeed.

A native of Fort Dodge, Kyle has over 13 years of banking and financial industry experience and prior to that spent seven years in youth ministry. Kyle earned his degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa with degrees in Business Administration with a finance emphasis as well as Christian Education.

Under Kyle’s leadership, TS Bank’s K–12 financial wellness program, originally launched in 2009, impacted more than 250,000 students, teachers, and adults across Iowa, Illinois, and North Dakota through classroom engagement, community classes as well as free financial coaching. During that time, his team worked closely with educators and administrators to help schools meet state standards and prepare students for life beyond high school.

In 2014, Kyle launched Iowa’s first in-school bank with integrated K–12 classroom programming, creating a hands-on learning experience for students. The following year, he collaborated with the Governor’s task force to develop and implement financial literacy standards as a statewide graduation requirement, ensuring every Iowa student graduates with essential financial skills.

He also helped create a continuing education and master credit course for teachers, streamlining curriculum and professional development for educators across the state. His forward-thinking approach led to the 2020 introduction of the Diploma Plus One Pathway in the Council Bluffs Community School District. This groundbreaking initiative allowed students to graduate with three American Bankers Association certificates alongside their high school diploma, a first-of-its-kind program nationally.

Kyle is deeply involved in community outreach and nonprofit work, serving on boards such as the Iowa JumpStart Coalition, Iowa Western Community College Advisory Board and Green Hills Education Agency Business Advisory Board. He also chaired the Southwest Iowa Chicago Federal Reserve planning team and graduate of Leadership Council Bluffs, Class 27. Kyle is also an elder at First City Church and actively leads local initiatives as President of TeamMates of Council Bluffs, Woodland Acres Neighborhood Association and Four Corners Community Foundation.

Beyond these roles, Kyle regularly offers free financial education classes at businesses, nonprofits, jails, shelters, and juvenile detention centers. Since 2013, he has personally educated an average of 2,500 students, adults, and teachers annually across Western Iowa, truly reinforcing his passion for mentorship and financial empowerment.
