TS Bank announces $25,000 gift to Spirit of Westfair Capital Campaign

July 23, 2026

Council Bluffs, Iowa, July 23, 2026 – TS Bank is excited to announce a donation of $25,000 as part of a multi-year gift to the Spirit of Westfair Capital Campaign, supporting Westfair's vision to revitalize its facilities and ensure the fairgrounds continue serving western Iowa families, youth and agricultural communities for generations to come.

For more than 50 years, Westfair has been a cornerstone of the region, bringing together families, celebrating agriculture and providing opportunities for youth development. As Westfair enters its next chapter, the Spirit of Westfair Campaign, a three-phase, $34 million capital campaign aims to transform the fairgrounds through investment in facilities, infrastructure and community gathering spaces.

TS Bank's gift provides momentum for the campaign as it works toward its initial $10 million public fundraising goal and help fund key infrastructure improvements. This reflects a shared belief in Westfair's future as a premier destination for community engagement, agricultural education and economic development.

"Westfair has been an important part of our communities for decades, creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow and develop leadership skills while preserving our agricultural heritage," said Mick & Judy Guttau with TS Bank. "As a community bank with deep roots in southwest Iowa, we're proud to invest in a project that will strengthen Westfair's impact for future generations."

Planned improvements include a 65,000-square-foot education and expo center featuring a show ring, arena and classroom space; and infrastructure upgrades to improve accessibility, technology, utilities and year-round event capabilities.

TS Bank's support of Westfair dates back to 1978. In addition to this campaign commitment, the bank has proudly supported numerous fair activities through the years and continues that tradition in 2026 as a sponsor of the Westfair Queen Contest, the annual Kids Pedal Pull and TS Bank's free community Watermelon Feed.

The gift also builds on TS Bank's longstanding commitment to youth and agriculture through its 4-H Livestock Matching Program. Launched in 2012, the program matches donations made by 4-H members to support fairground improvements. With additional support from Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home, the program has helped raise over $40,000 for projects such as livestock pen repairs, grandstand renovations and other facility improvements. Today, nearly 100% of local 4-H members participate in the program each year.

"Westfair is more than a fairgrounds. It's a place where friendships are formed, leadership skills are developed and family traditions are built across generations," said Connie Casson, Westfair Capital Campaign Committee. "We are grateful for TS Bank's partnership and commitment to helping ensure Westfair remains a vibrant community asset for many years to come."

As part of its mission to IGNITE PROSPERITY®, TS Bank seeks opportunities that support youth development, strengthen rural communities and promote agriculture. Investments in places like Westfair help cultivate future leaders while preserving the traditions and values that make western Iowa unique.

Community members are invited to join TS Bank and Westfair during this year's fair festivities, including TS Bank's free Watermelon Feed starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, and the Kids Pedal Pull on Sunday, July 26, at 1:00 p.m.
