TS Bank donates $5,000 to Southwest Iowa Leadership Academy

Council Bluffs, IA - For the third year in a row TS Bank is proud to donate $5,000 toward the Southwest Iowa Leadership Academy.
The Southwest Iowa Leadership Academy serves seven area middle schools in western Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Established in 1989, the mission of the Southwest Iowa Leadership Academy is to empower middle school students with leadership skills that will help them to become active stewards in a diverse society and provide experiences that will challenge them to meet the needs of our ever-changing world.
“Being able to provide this opportunity for our community's middle school students is a challenge every year as we look for funding,” said Deb Masker, Program Director. “The staff of the academy works hard to provide meaningful activities that inspire and teach our middle school students about becoming positive leaders in our schools and area.”
Through this program, students explore leadership styles, business simulations, group dynamics, community service and overall career exploration.
“This is such an important time period in their growth as human beings,” stated Masker. “It has been a great source of pride to watch as the young people who have attended the academy the past 28 years grow into the leaders of our community and our state. We know we make a difference and we hope to continue to make a difference for years to come.”
