Motivational speaker to inspire at 10 southwest Iowa schools next week

September 3, 2021 | TS Bank

Treynor, Iowa, September 8, 2021 - For 21 years middle and high school students in southwest Iowa have filed into gymnasiums and auditoriums to hear from speakers who educate, inspire and empower through TS Promise. TS Bank will celebrate the return of in-school visits during this year’s TS Promise, Sept. 13 to Sept. 17, with 10 assemblies at schools in southwest Iowa.

Mick and Judy Guttau of TS Bank were at an American Bankers Association conference in the late 90s when they heard General and future Secretary of State Colin Powell talking about touching the lives of youth and the America’s Promise Alliance. This spurred own version of impacting youth through TS Promise.

Speakers have included a strongman, a yo-yo champion, ventriloquist, magician, artists and many more, all of whom use their unique talents to reach students.

This year’s presenter is national speaker, Tasha Schuh, who sees lives impacted and empowered by teaching others how to live a life of resilience, through her speaking engagements and curriculum. Tasha makes an impact and inspires real progress with students' mental health awareness, along with skill-based coping.

Tasha pushed through a life-changing theater accident that left her paralyzed from the chest down at the age of 16 and created a vibrant, fulfilling life. She has dedicated her life to helping youth navigate struggles – Tasha is a survivor, a believer and a fighter.

With 21 years of TS Promise means some of the very students reached through the program may now have careers with TS Bank.  Those who were in the stands as students now see the impact as employees. This event is way to be inspired and to see the company’s core principles and mission in action.
